The termination policy was a policy to get rid of American Indian tribes. It was a way to get the American Indians to live a American main-stream life as they would call it. It didn't help the Indians as much, when they moved to bigger cities and towns. It was hard for them to adapt to these kind of activities and to look like an 'American.' The government adjust this between the years 1950-1960. It didn't work out well for the Government as the American Indians tried to move back to there old lives and claim there tribes.
